The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) as well as its Working Group on the EGF examined the mobilisation of the EGF for the case EGF/2010/009 ES/Comunidad Valenciana Textile and adopted the following opinion.

Recalls application EGF/2009/014 ES/Comunidad Valenciana that covered 1.916 out of 2.425 redundancies in the same region and the same sector in Spain in 2008/2009 in the NACE Revision 2 Division 23 (manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products) as well as application EGF/2010/009 ES/Comunidad Valenciana - Textile concerning 544 dismissals in the same region;
2. rappelle la demande EGF/2009/014 ES/Comunidad Valenciana qui couvrait 1 916 des 2 425 licenciements intervenus en 2008 et 2009 en Espagne, dans la même région et le même secteur, dans la division 23 de la NACE Rév. 2 ("Fabrication d'autres produits minéraux non métalliques"), ainsi que la demande EGF/2010/009 ES/Comunidad Valenciana - Textile concernant 544 licenciements intervenus dans la même région;

The application, case EGF/2010/009 ES/Comunidad Valenciana Textiles, was submitted to the Commission on 22 March 2010 and supplemented by additional information up to 17 June 2010.
La demande à l'examen, correspondant au dossier EGF/2010/009 ES/Comunidad Valenciana – Textiles, a été présentée à la Commission le 22 mars 2010 et complétée par des informations supplémentaires, dont les dernières ont été fournies le 17 juin 2010.

Notes that the employment situation in the region is difficult as the unemployment rates reached 18 % for women and 16,32 % for men in the end of 2011; welcomes the fact that EGF is seen as an efficient tool to support local labour markets and that the region has already applied for the EGF support (EGF/2010/003 ES Galicia / Textile sector);
