1. The net worth of these assets and liabilities, as they appear in the balance sheet of the ECSC of 23 July 2002, subject to any increase or decrease which may occur as a result of the liquidation operations, shall be considered as assets intended for research in the sectors related to the coal and steel industry, referred to as the "ECSC in liquidation".

Sous réserve de toute augmentation ou diminution qui peut intervenir à la suite des opérations de liquidation, la valeur nette de ces éléments, tels qu'ils apparaissent dans le bilan de la CECA au 23 juillet 2002, est considérée comme un patrimoine destiné à la recherche dans les secteurs liés à l'industrie du charbon et de l'acier, désigné par "CECA en liquidation".

2. 12. Notes that the financial statements for the ECSC in liquidation as at 31 December 2002 were not published in the Official Journal until 11 October 2003; nonetheless welcomes the detailed and informative way in which they are set out, which should be the benchmark for subsequently published financial statements for the ECSC in liquidation, and calls on the Commission to ensure maximum transparency with regard to figures on trends in, and use of, ECSC assets and on revenue from them;
12. constate que les états financiers, au 31 décembre 2002, de la CECA en liquidation n'ont été publiés au Journal officiel que le 11 octobre 2003; se félicite néanmoins de leur présentation circonstanciée et informative, que devront égaler les futurs états financiers de la CECA en liquidation, et invite la Commission à assurer une transparence maximale en ce qui concerne les données relatives à l'évolution et à l'utilisation du patrimoine de la CECA et des bénéfices qu'il produit;
