TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

In line with scientific advice provided by the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF), according to which the rule on effort limitation in the existing management plan for cod in the Baltic Sea is not required to meet the objectives of the reformed Common Fisheries Policy in respect of the stocks subject to the landing obligation, fishing effort limits for cod stocks in the Baltic Sea should be removed.
Conformément à l'avis scientifique émis par le comité scientifique, technique et économique de la pêche (CSTEP), selon lequel la disposition relative à la limitation de l'effort, prévue dans l'actuel plan de gestion applicable au cabillaud en mer Baltique, ne serait pas nécessaire pour atteindre les objectifs fixés dans le cadre de la réforme de la politique commune de la pêche en ce qui concerne les stocks soumis à l'obligation de débarquement, il convient de supprimer les limitations de l'effort de pêche imposées à l'égard des stocks de cabillaud en mer Baltique.

N. whereas following the establishment of the Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and of the Interparliamentary Conference on Economic Governance, as well as the consolidation of the role of interparliamentary committee meetings as the preferred channel for cooperation, COSAC should remain the forum for a regular exchange of views, information and best practice regarding the practical aspects of parliamentary scrutiny, and focus in particular on discussing the general state of the integration process;

Stresses that in order to meet their obligations to the EU under the DCF, Member States collect and forward data that constitute an excellent source of information on fishing activity, and that this huge reserve of information is compiled by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and assessed by experts from the working groups of the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF); adds that the data collected by the Member States under the DCF are used by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) to provide scientific information on resources and advice on fisheries management;

We have organised a meeting in the College of Commissioners, and I am determined to go on working with the social partners, the European Parliament, the governments of Europe, the Presidency, of course, and also with the Committee of Regions, and the Social and Economic Committee because I really believe that, in facing this problem of employment, we need a European mobilisation not only of governments and the European institutions but also of the social partners and all our societies.
