In answer to the questions put to it last month, the Council stated that it had not included the subject of the 'Tobin tax' on the agenda for the ECOFIN Council, even though Mrs Lena Hjelm-Wallén, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, had declared on 23 March of this year that she approved of the 'Tobin tax'.
