The Italian authorities have agreed to limit the scope of the scheme in such a way that aid will now be reserved for small enterprises (within the meaning of the Community guidelines on state aid for SMEs) and its intensity kept below the ceilings laid down in those guidelines or below the ceilings enabling the aid to be regarded as "de minimis" (for each enterprise, a maximum of ECU 50 000 for three years in the case of investment aid, plus a maximum of ECU 50 000 for the other objectives, i.e. a maximum of ECU 100 000 in all).
