It is recalled that, following the entry into force of the Amsterdam Treaty, the Commission had tabled a proposal last July aimed at transposing into a Community instrument the texts of the "frozen" draft Eurodac Convention and Protocol on which the Council had reached agreement respectively in December 1998 and March 1999.
On se souviendra que, à la suite de l'entrée en vigueur du trait d'Amsterdam, la Commission a présenté en juillet dernier une proposition visant à transposer dans un instrument communautaire les textes des projets de convention et de protocole Eurodac qui avaient été gelés. Le Conseil était parvenu à un accord sur ces textes respectivement en décembre 1998 et en mars 1999.
