Mr Diamandouros thanked Mr Schulz as well as his predecessors for the trust, confidence, and broad support that the European Parliament and, particularly, its Committee on Petitions, have granted him in his role as guardian of good administration, and in his efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and a culture of service in the EU administration.
M. Diamandouros a remercié M. Schulz ainsi que ses prédécesseurs pour le soutien, la confiance et l'appui solide que le Parlement et, en particulier, sa commission des pétitions, lui ont accordés dans son rôle de gardien de la bonne administration et dans ses efforts pour promouvoir la responsabilité, la transparence, et une culture du service au sein de l'administration de l'UE.

Nonetheless, I consider that, thanks to this delay, thanks to the Commission’s failure to advise Mr Diamandouros, we were able to have a report which records issues which have both form and substance.
Je considère néanmoins que grâce à ce retard et au refus de la Commission de transmettre certaines informations à M. Diamandouros, nous disposons maintenant d’un rapport qui expose des problèmes relatifs tant à la forme qu’au fond.

My thanks in particular to Mr Diamandouros because, thanks to this report, he gave us an opportunity to understand in the European Parliament our power to address issues which we consider to be paramount to European cohesion.
