Although industrial policy falls within the national sphere of competence, I have previously urged the Commission to take on a more substantial role, especially in carrying out studies and delivering forecasts along with preparing recommendations to governments on which spheres would be competitive, which is very important in terms of moving production to third countries.
Bien que la politique industrielle relève de la compétence nationale, j’ai déjà pressé précédemment la Commission d’assumer un rôle plus important, notamment en réalisant des études, en publiant des prévisions et en préparant des recommandations destinées aux gouvernements et décrivant les secteurs compétitifs, ce qui est très important en termes de délocalisation de la production vers des pays tiers.
