(a) If a person is not entitled to an old age pension, invalidity pension, widow’s pension or orphan’s benefit solely on the basis of the creditable periods under the legislation of Cyprus, but is entitled to that benefit through the totalizing of creditable periods as provided in this Agreement, the competent institution of Cyprus shall calculate the amount of the supplementary benefit in conformity with the provisions of the legislation of Cyprus, exclusively on the basis of the periods creditable under that legislation.
a) Si une personne n’a pas droit à une pension de vieillesse, à une pension d’invalidité, à une pension de veuve ou à une prestation d’orphelin en fonction des seules périodes admissibles aux termes de la législation de Chypre, mais a droit à ladite prestation suite à la totalisation des périodes admissibles comme le prévoit le présent Accord, l’institution compétente de Chypre détermine le montant de la prestation supplémentaire, en conformité des dispositions de la législation de Chypre, uniquement en fonction des périodes admissibles aux termes de ladite législation.

2. In the application of paragraph 2, where, in accordance with the legislation of Cyprus, a woman claims an old age pension, the competent institution of Cyprus shall take into account, where appropriate, creditable periods completed by her husband under the legislation of either Party.
2. Aux fins de l’application du paragraphe 1, si une femme demande une pension de vieillesse aux termes de la législation de Chypre, l’institution compétente de Chypre prend en compte, le cas échéant, des périodes admissibles accomplies par son mari aux termes de la législation de chaque Partie.

(i) the competent institution of Cyprus shall calculate the theoretical benefit that would be payable if the creditable periods completed under the legislation of both Parties, totalized as provided in Chapter 1 of this Part, had been completed under the legislation of Cyprus alone;

21. In addition to the amounts set out in Articles 83 and 84, Cyprus shall benefit from an additional allocation of EUR 94,2 million in 2014 and 92,4 million in 2015 to be added to its Structural Funds allocation.

18. In order to recognise the challenges posed by the situation of islands Member States and the remoteness of certain parts of the Union, Malta and Cyprus shall receive, after the application of paragraph 16, an additional envelope of EUR 200 million and EUR 150 million respectively under the Investment for growth and jobs goal and distributed as follows: one third for the Cohesion Fund and two thirds for the Structural Funds.

(a) if a person is subject to the Canada Pension Plan or to the comprehensive pension plan of a province of Canada during any period of residence in the territory of Cyprus, that period shall be considered as a period of residence in Canada for that person as well as for that person’s spouse and dependants who reside with him or her and who are not subject to the legislation of Cyprus by reason of employment;

Be it by 28 February or after that, by the time Cyprus formally accedes to the European Union on 1 May 2004, or even later than that, the Council expects the two sides to achieve a result and I think that the momentum of events themselves, with the developments we have seen in the Turkish-Cypriot part of the island and the fresh example of yesterday’s demonstrations; events themselves will help bring about a solution and we shall have a single, united Cyprus in the Union, with all the benefits that this Union has to offer Cyprus.

Je pense que l'impulsion des événements eux-mêmes, avec les développements auxquels nous avons assisté dans la partie chypriote turque de l'île et l'exemple récent des manifestations d'hier, les événements eux-mêmes nous aideront à trouver une solution et l'Union abritera en son sein une seule Chypre unifiée, avec tous les avantages que l'Union peut offrir à Chypre.
