Thomas Jansen has been the Head of the President's office since November 2000, having first served under Göke Frerichs (2000-2002) and then Roger Briesch (2002-2004), and has successfully steered the Presidents’ work through what has been a busy time for the European Union's consultative organ, developing the Committee's role within the European Union structures as the representative of, and bridge to, organised civil society.
Thomas Jansen est chef de cabinet de la présidence depuis novembre 2000. Il a d’abord oeuvré sous la présidence de Göke Frerichs (2000-2002) puis de Roger Briesch (2002-2004) et a guidé avec succès le travail des Présidents au cours de ce qui fut une période de forte activité pour l’organe consultatif de l’Union européenne. Il a notamment œuvré pour développer le rôle du Comité au sein des institutions européennes, pour faire de lui le représentant de la société civile organisée et lui faire jouer le rôle de pont avec cette dernière.

The fifth information and discussion meeting between the European Convention and civil society and European network organisations, that took place on 15th November in Brussels, at the invitation and under the auspices of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) provided the opportunity to its new President, Mr Roger Briesch, to welcome Mr Jean-Luc Dehaene, Vice-President of the Convention.
La cinquième réunion d'information et de dialogue entre la Convention européenne et les organisations et réseaux européens de la société civile, qui s'est déroulée le 15 novembre à Bruxelles, à l'invitation et sous les auspices du Comité économique et social européen (CESE), a été l'occasion pour son nouveau Président, M. Roger Briesch, d'accueillir M. Jean-Luc Dehaene, Vice-président de la Convention.
