– Mr President, yesterday, in the light of a unilateral declaration put on the record by the Commission during Tuesday night’s plenary debate on the regulation on certain fluorinated gases, the text of which was not introduced during conciliation and which compromises the spirit of the conciliation agreement and shows great disrespect and disregard for the clear will of Parliament and Council, I requested a postponement of the vote on the two reports on fluorinated gases, at least until today, to allow time to explore with colleagues in all political groups the serious implications for us as legislators of what we consider to have been an abuse of Parliament because of an internal turf war between two DGs within the Commission.
- (EN) Monsieur le Président, hier, à la lumière de la déclaration unilatérale présentée par la Commission au cours de la séance plénière de mardi soir sur le règlement relatif à certains gaz à effet de serre fluorés, dont le texte n’a pas été présenté lors de la conciliation et compromet l’esprit de l’accord de conciliation tout en témoignant d’un profond manque de respect et de mépris vis-à-vis de la volonté claire du Parlement et du Conseil, j’ai demandé le report du vote sur les deux rapports relatifs aux gaz à effet de serre fluorés, au moins jusqu’à aujourd’hui, afin de laisser le temps à mes collègues de tous les groupes politiques d’examiner les graves implications de ce que nous considérons, en tant que législateurs, comme un abus du Parlement en raison d’une guerre de compétence entre deux directions générales de la Commission.

The Council had already agreed to the conciliation agreement yesterday.
