IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

(a) not less than 8,5 % and not more than 11,5 % actual alcoholic strength by volume for certain Community wines designated with a geographical indication, including quality wines psr, except for certain quality wines having a high residual sugar content without having undergone any enrichment, for which the total alcoholic strength may be not less than 6 %;

Considers that the objective Community criteria restricting the possibility of permanent abandonment may include the following: (a) vineyards in mountainous, coastal and island regions mainly producing wines with geographical indications; (b) vineyards on slopes where soil erosion and the loss of biodiversity must be prevented or in traditional regions of historical importance; (c) vineyards producing wines with a commercial outlet; (d) vineyards where excessive reduction would threaten the existence of a whole terroir or a registered designation of origin; (e) vineyards which received structural aid under Community programmes; (f) cases where the abandonment of wine growing creates environmental risks;

58. Believes that owing to the existing particularities of the regime of geographical indications of wines, the possibility could be examined, during the first phase of the reform (2008-2011), of incorporating the provisions of Council Regulation (EC) No 510/2006 of 20 March 2006 on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs subject to the necessary adjustments, in the new CMO for the wine sector; points out that during the second phase of the reform (2012-2015), once the gradual classification and uniform registration of wines has been achieved at Community and national level during the first phase, the advisability of incorporating the provisions of the future regulation on the new CMO for the wine sector relative to geographical indications in Regulation (EC) No 510/2006 should be examined;
58. estime que, eu égard aux particularités actuelles du régime des indications géographiques, l'on pourrait, au cours de la première phase de la réforme (2008-2011), examiner la possibilité d'intégrer les dispositions du règlement (CE) n° 510/2006 du Conseil du 20 mars 2006 relatif à la protection des indications géographiques et des appellations d'origine des produits agricoles et des denrées alimentaires , en y apportant les ajustements indispensables, à la nouvelle OCM du secteur vitivinicole; fait observer que, dans la deuxième phase de la réforme (2012-2015), alors que le classement progressif et le registre unique des vins aux niveaux communautaire et national auront déjà été réalisés au cours de la première phase, il conviendra d'examiner l'opportunité d'intégrer les dispositions du futur règlement sur la nouvelle OCM du secteur vitivinicole relatives aux indications géographiques dans le règlement (CE) n° 510/2006;

Even now it is in the process of agreeing to the use of European wine designations by producers outside the Community.

II. Pursuant to the definition of "vine varieties" referred to in Article 3(m) of this Agreement, the Parties agree that for the purpose of importing and marketing Community wines in Chile, vine varieties used for the production of such wines designated with a geographical indication will include all the vine varieties classified by the Member States belonging to the species Vitis vinifera or coming from a cross between this species and other species of the genus Vitis.
II. (6) Wines originating in Canada with the right to the designation "Icewine" are produced under conditions similar to those applying to Community wines with the right to the designation "Eiswein".

Quality wines psr of different origins put up in containers of no more 60 litres labelled in accordance with Community provisions, that are acquired from a third party and held with a view to sale, may be entered in the same account provided that the competent authority or an agency or body empowered by that authority has given its agreement and that entries and withdrawals of each quality wine psr appear therein individually; this shall also apply for table wines designated by a geographical indication.
Les v.q.p.r.d. d'origines différentes conditionnés en récipients de soixante litres ou moins et étiquetés conformément aux dispositions communautaires, acquis auprès d'un tiers et détenus en vue de la vente, peuvent être inscrits sur le même compte, pour autant que l'instance compétente, ou un service ou organisme habilité par celle-ci, a marqué son accord et que les entrées et les sorties de chaque v.q.p.r.d. y apparaissent individuellement; il en est de même pour les vins de table désignés à l'aide d'une indication géographique.

(22) in the light of the improved market balance and the expanding world market, there may be justification for increasing planting rights which should be allocated to the Member States concerned and, in part, to a Community reserve for allocation which is dependent on additional market demand; this increase should be reduced by the extent to which new planting rights have been authorised for quality wines psr and table wines designated with a geographical indication;
(22) l'amélioration de l'équilibre du marché et le développement du marché mondial peuvent justifier une augmentation des droits de plantation, qui doivent être attribués aux États membres concernés ainsi que, pour une partie, une réserve communautaire pour une attribution conditionnée à une demande supplémentaire du marché; il y a lieu de déduire de ladite augmentation les droits de plantation nouvelle octroyés pour des v.q.p.r.d. et les vins de table désignés par une indication géographique;
