The planning, development and operation of trans-European transport networks contribute to the attainment of major Union objectives, as set out in, inter alia, the Europe 2020 Strategy and the Commission White Paper entitled "Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area – Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system" ("the White Paper"), such as the smooth functioning of the internal market and the strengthening of economic, social and territorial cohesion.
La planification, le développement et le fonctionnement des réseaux transeuropéens de transport contribuent à la réalisation d'objectifs importants de l'Union, qui sont notamment énoncés dans la stratégie Europe 2020 et dans le livre blanc de la Commission intitulé "Feuille de route pour un espace européen unique des transports" (ci-après dénommé "livre blanc"), tels que le bon fonctionnement du marché intérieur et le renforcement de la cohésion économique, sociale et territoriale.
