The GOI further argued that, had the proper updated legal basis been taken into account, the Commission would have to take a note of the fact that the maximum ceiling interest rate applicable to export credits, previously made mandatory by the Reserve Bank of India (‘RBI’) for the commercial banks, ceased to exist before the IP with regard to export credits in rupees.
