During the course of examination, an important Aboriginal concern came to light with a helpful comment made by Senator Dawson, who discovered that Nunavik, a region comprising the northern tip of Quebec, is not in a senatorial district and so its inhabitants are not legally represented in the Senate.
Au cours de notre examen, une remarque utile formulée par le sénateur Dawson nous a permis de mettre au jour une question importante concernant les Autochtones. En effet, nous avons découvert que le Nunavik, une région englobant la pointe nord de la province de Québec, n'est pas situé à l'intérieur d'une circonscription sénatoriale.
