Beet growing in that area is essential in order to regenerate soils with a particularly high level of clay and thus to avoid a return to single-crop farming; Italy should therefore be authorised to grant the southern regions national aid over the next five marketing years in respect of the same amount and under the same conditions as for the 2000/2001 marketing year.
La culture de la betterave y est indispensable pour permettre la régénération des sols particulièrement argileux et ainsi éviter un retour à la monoculture; il convient, dès lors, d'autoriser l'Italie à octroyer pour les régions du sud une aide nationale pour les cinq prochaines campagnes de commercialisation d'un même montant et aux mêmes conditions que pour la campagne de commercialisation 2000/2001.
