The updated list was published on 19 May 2015 as a Notice from the European Commission (2015/C 162/06); it comprises eleven organisations: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); Bureau Veritas SA — Registre international de classification de navires et d’aeronefs (BV); China Classification Society (CCS); Croatian Register of Shipping (CRS); DNV GL AS; KR (Korean Register); Lloyd’s Register Group LTD (LR); Nippon Kaiji Kyokai General Incorporated Foundation (ClassNK); Polish Register of Shipping (PRS); RINA Services S.p.A.; Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).

I must say that the Commission, for its part, since 21 December 1999, has approached the Italian authorities in charge of port inspections, as well as the classification society RINA, which was responsible for the most recent classifications of the Erika, with a view to receiving explanations regarding the way that the Erika has been inspected.
Je tiens à souligner que, pour sa part, la Commission s'est adressée, dès le 21 décembre 1999, aux autorités italiennes chargées des inspections dans les ports, ainsi qu'à la société de classification RINA, responsable des dernières classifications de l'Erika, dans le but d'obtenir des explications sur les contrôles réalisés sur le pétrolier.

Erika was a 37 000 tonne deadweight single-hulled tanker built in Japan in 1975, registered in Malta since 1993 and classed with the Italian Classification Society RINA, having transferred from Bureau Veritas in June 1998.
L'Érika était un pétrolier à simple coque de 37 000 tonnes de port en lourd construit au Japon en 1975, immatriculé à Malte depuis 1993 et contrôlé par la société italienne de classification RINA, après avoir été classé par le Bureau Veritas jusqu'en juin 1998.

The Commission must ascertain whether the relevant Community directives were correctly applied in this case, both by the Italian authorities, as the port state, as well as the company RINA, as the classification society.
