[7]Thus far, there have been 19 people charged with one or more of the Criminal Code offences relating to “terrorist activity” introduced by the Anti-terrorism Act.The first was Ottawa resident and Canadian citizen Mohammad Khawaja, who was charged in March 2004 with several of these new offences, including partici pat ion and facilitation offences under sections 83.18 and 83.19 of the Code.
