IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Building on the outcome of the EU-CELAC (Community of Latin America and Caribbean states) Summit in June 2015, a new initiative will be introduced: the LAC Regional Facility for International Cooperation and Partnership will, with €3 million over 36 months, boost relations and promote alliance-building between the EU and its Latin American partners in areas of mutual interest.
Une nouvelle initiative, fondée sur les résultats du sommet UE-CELAC (Communauté des États d'Amérique latine et des Caraïbes) de juin 2015 sera mise en place: le mécanisme régional pour la coopération internationale et le partenariat en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes, doté d'une enveloppe financière de 3 millions d'euros sur une période de 36 mois, renforcera les liens et favorisera les alliances entre l'UE et ses partenaires d'Amérique latine dans des domaines d'intérêt commun.

In Latin America, on the basis of the political declaration of the EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Summit held in Madrid in May 2002, in which the States of the two regions commit themselves "To carry out an integrated analysis of the different issues of migration between our regions..". , the Commission has started to explore ways to develop a dialogue on migration between the two regions.

Supports the Commission's proposal that the stronger EU-LAC strategic partnership should be deemed to encompass the entire body of relations by which the Caribbean countries are linked to the Union and to their Central and South American partners under the series of Lomé Conventions and the successor Cotonou Agreement, and in particular through CARIFORUM (the Forum of Caribbean States) and by virtue both of the fact that CARICOM (the Caribbean Common Market) belongs to the Rio Group and of their attendance at the EU-LAC summits; urges the Commission to explore this avenue further in its forthcoming communication;
