9. Urges the Canadian and US Governments to remove their retaliatory measures against EU imports in response to the EU’s ban on hormone-treated beef and to accept mounting scientific evidence showing that the hormones used in beef production – such as oestradiol-17 beta – are carcinogenic and genotoxic, thus presenting unacceptable risks; urges the European Commission to appeal the ruling delivered by the WTO in this case on 30 March 2008 which allows the US and Canada to force hormone-fed beef on Europe;
9. prie instamment les gouvernements des États-Unis et du Canada de retirer leurs mesures de rétorsion contre les importations de l'Union européenne en réponse à son interdiction du bœuf aux hormones et d'accepter l'accumulation de preuves scientifiques démontrant que les hormones utilisées dans la production de viande bovine – dont l'œstradiol 17 bêta – sont cancérogènes et toxiques pour la reproduction, et qu'elles présentent donc des risques inacceptables; invite la Commission à faire appel de la décision prise par l'OMC dans cette affaire, le 30 mars 2008, qui permettrait aux États-Unis et au Canada d'imposer à l'Europe le bœuf aux hormones;

Urges the Canadian Government and the US Administration to abandon their retaliatory measures on EU imports in response to the EU’s ban on hormone-treated beef and to accept mounting scientifical evidence showing that the hormones used in beef production - such as Oestradiol 17 beta - are carcinogenic and genotoxic, and thus pose unacceptable risks; urges the European Commission to appeal against the ruling handed down by the WTO in this case on 30 March 2008, which allows the US and Canada to force hormone-fed beef on Europe;
12. prie instamment les gouvernements du Canada et des États-Unis de renoncer à leurs représailles contre les importations de produits en provenance de l'UE en réaction à l'interdiction par cette dernière des importations de viande bovine traitée aux hormones et d'admettre les preuves scientifiques de plus en plus nombreuses selon lesquelles les hormones utilisées dans la production de viande bovine, comme l'œstradiol 17 beta, sont cancérigènes et toxiques pour la reproduction et, par conséquent, exposent à des risques inacceptables; prie instamment la Commission européenne de faire appel contre la décision rendue le 30 mars 2008 par l'OMC dans ce dossier, qui autorise les États-Unis et le Canada à imposer l'entrée en Europe de viande bovine aux hormones;
