9. Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing paragraphs of this agreement, Canada shall retain the wharves and wharf sites situate within the Railway Belt and specified in Schedule One to this agreement, together with the lands adjacent thereto which are required for the convenient use of any such wharf or wharf site; the boundaries of the parcels of land reserved to Canada under this clause shall be ascertained and defined by agreement between Canada and the Province as soon as convenient.
9. 53.1 (1) If the Government of Canada becomes responsible for the Management — as defined in the Northwest Territories Lands and Resources Devolution Agreement that was made on June 25, 2013 — of a waste site, the federal Minister shall immediately notify the board in writing of the lands on which the waste site is situated.

(Return tabled) Question No. 154 Mrs. Carol Hughes: With regard to surplus lighthouses being made available under the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act: (a) concerning the land surrounding the light stations, (i) will the Treasury Board Decision #828161 allow “sponsors” to proceed with plans to use the land to make the sites economically self-supporting, (ii) will up-to-date surveys be conducted of all properties prior to transfer; (b) concerning the contaminated or toxic sites that are reported to be present on all light stations, (i) will “sponsors” be shown where they are, told what they are composed of, and given written assurance by the Ministry of the Environment that all dangerous materials have been removed; and (c) concerning the cost of bringing the buildings “up to standard” as outlined by building inspectors (Maintenance Cost Studies), (i) will monies be made available to cover this cost, (ii) what kind of financial and advisory support will be provided to assist the “sponsors” in employing the approved methods of care and development of the sites to meet heritage specifications, (iii) will the government be establishing a fund under the auspices of Heritage Canada, whereby “sponsors” of lighthouses can apply for “renovation funds” if local fund-raising efforts need topping up?
(Le document est déposé) Question n 154 Mme Carol Hughes: En ce qui concerne la liste des phares excédentaires rendus disponibles en vertu de la Loi sur la protection des phares patrimoniaux: a) à propos des terrains entourant les stations de phare, (i) est-ce que la décision no 828161 du Conseil du Trésor permet aux « parrains » de se lancer dans des projets visant à utiliser les terrains pour rendre les sites économiquement viables, (ii) va-t-on réaliser de nouvelles enquêtes sur toutes les propriétés avant de procéder aux transferts; b) quant aux terrains contaminés ou toxiques de toutes les stations de phare, (i) les « parrains » seront-ils informés des lieux précis et de la nature de la contamination, et obtiendront-ils la garantie écrite du ministre de l’Environnement que les terrains auront été débarrassés de toutes les matières dangereuses; c) à propos du coût des efforts de « mise aux normes » des bâtiments définis par les inspecteurs en bâtiment (études sur les frais d’entretien), (i) va-t-on débloquer des fonds pour couvrir les dépenses afférentes, (ii) quel type d’aide financière ou de soutien va-t-on accorder aux « parrains » pour leur permettre d’appliquer les procédures approuvées d’entretien et de développement de ces sites dans le respect des caractéristiques patrimoniales, (iii) le gouvernement va-t-il créer un fonds, géré par Héritage Canada, auquel les « parrains » de phares pourront s’adresser afin d’obtenir des « fonds pour la restauration », advenant le cas où les campagnes de financement locales ne permettraient pas de recueillir tout l’argent nécessaire?

In 1994, an agreement for the settlement of the specific land claim was signed between the Ojibway Keeseekoowenin and Canada and Reserve No. 61A was restored. In 2000, most of the lands in question were removed from the Riding Mountain site when the Canada National Parks Act was enacted.
En 1994, une entente de règlement de la revendication territoriale particulière de la première nation fut conclue entre les Ojibway Keeseekoowenin et le Canada et permit de rétablir la réserve 61A, et en 2000, la plus grande partie des terres concernées furent soustraites au territoire du Mont-Riding avec l'adoption de la Loi sur les parcs nationaux du Canada.
