We still experience that today, but it has only served to strengthen us, as struggle and hardship always does. While we await with great anticipation those benefits that, in years to come, we believe will flow from the offshore and, more recently, from the great nickel discovery at Voisey's Bay in Labrador, we know, like people all across this country, that we will have to brace ourselves in the coming months to cope with the new trading patterns, new financial flows and new technology that are shaking the very foundations of Canadian society.
