The EU, which is Russia's largest trading partner, accounting for nearly 40% of both Russia's imports and exports, has a strong interest in the successful completion of these negotiations. The EU helps Russia directly through targeted technical assistance to build the necessary administrative and institutional capacity to ensure that it is able to take on WTO obligations.
