If any UK PLC had filed accounts of this nature for 14 years which have been completely unacceptable, and again this year – and I do not regard the Court of Auditors as having given this a clean bill of health at all, and I have read the document – if the Commission were a board of UK PLC directors I have to say they would now be in prison!
Si une société anonyme britannique, quelle qu’elle soit, avait déposé une telle comptabilité - une comptabilité totalement inacceptable - pendant 14 ans et qu’elle remettait le couvert cette année - et, pour moi, la Cour des comptes n’a pas donné un certificat de parfaite santé et j’ai lu le document -, si la Commission était un conseil d’administration d’une société anonyme britannique, tous ses membres seraient maintenant en prison!
