Speaking, indeed, as an Austrian, and therefore as someone who saw this going on so to speak over his own back fence, I can say that it seems to me of the essence that we who, ten years ago, watched in horrified fascination the incredible savagery and warfare and the people’s suffering, can today say with some satisfaction that there is only slight likelihood of an armed conflict there.
En ma qualité d’Autrichien, en effet, et donc de citoyen qui a vu les événements se dérouler pour ainsi dire dans son arrière-cour, je peux vous affirmer - et c’est essentiel selon moi - que nous pouvons aujourd’hui, dix ans après avoir assisté avec horreur et fascination à la guerre, à l’incroyable sauvagerie et à la souffrance des populations, dire avec satisfaction que les risques de conflit armé dans la région sont à présent infimes.
