Deplores the fact that development of the Commission’s Green Infrastructure Strategy is planned only for 2012, while energy and transport corridors have already been identified in the European Infrastructure Package proposal; calls on the Commission, therefore, to accelerate work on the Green Infrastructure Strategy and to ensure realisation of the proposed target No 2; agrees that synergies between the energy, transport and ICT projects should be maximised in order to limit the negative impact on biodiversity, and that only actions which are in conformity with EU law and are in line with the relevant Union policies should be financed with EU funding;

Northern Spain’s Atlantic acidophilous beach (Fagus sylvatica) forests and Galicio-Portuguese oak woods (Quercus robur and Quercus pyrenaica) in Aiako Harria SCI (Guipuzcoa, the Basque Country) are covered by a project run by a partnership of four local authorities - a water authority, a forestry foundation, a foundation for biodiversity and the regional nature conservation authority.

In particular, the project POLINAT II (Pollution from Aircraft Emissions in the North Atlantic Flight Corridor) has performed successful studies of measurements and modelling of aircraft emissions including water vapour, carbon dioxide and nitrogen species.
