IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

30. Calls for EP-Albania interparliamentary cooperation to be enhanced; recommends harmonising, as far as possible, the future calendar of meetings of the EU-Albania Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee and that of the High Level Dialogue on the Key Priorities in order to strengthen parliamentary oversight of the EU accession process;

(3) The Governor in Council may, by commission under the Great Seal, appoint an Associate Parliamentary Librarian to hold office during pleasure who, in addition to any duties defined in respect of the office under section 78, shall execute and perform the duties and functions of Parliamentary Librarian during the absence, illness or other incapacity of the Parliamentary Librarian or during a vacancy in the office of Parliamentary Librarian.

– having regard to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the European Communities and their Member States and the Republic of Serbia that entered into force on 1 September 2013; having regard to the first meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, responsible for engaging the European Parliament and the National Assembly of Serbia in continuous dialogue, which took place in November 2013,

ix) Ensure optimal implementation of the AA, paying particular attention to the points highlighted by Parliament in this report and the provisions of regulations implementing the AA, and support the activities of the Association Parliamentary Committee which, given the complex important trade and economic provisions of the AA, should be proportionally composed by the Members of the Committee on International Trade, in order to closely follow up the implementation of the relevant provisions of the Agreement.

provision for political dialogue with Albania; provisions on enhanced regional co-operation, including the perspective of establishing free trade areas between the countries of the region; the perspective of the establishment of a free-trade area between the EU and Albania within ten years of the entry into force of the Agreement; provisions on the movement of workers, freedom of establishment, supply of services, current payments and movement of capital; the commitment by Albania to approximate its legislation to that of the EU, notably in key areas of the internal market; provisions on co-operation with Albania in a wide range of fields, including justice, freedom and security. provision for the establishment of a Stabilisation and Association Council which supervises the implementation of the Agreement, of a Stabilisation and Association Committee and a Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee.

I would also like to highlight the establishment in the agreement of an Association Parliamentary Committee, which will be a discussion forum for Members of the European Parliament and Members of the Chilean Congress.
