Quite frankly, I would include among these the difficulty of converting a genuine impetus generated by many non-governmental organisations for rapid change and for a policy of assembling critical voices into a positive drive for change and reform, and, in this regard, I would refer to the recent statements of the President of the World Bank, James Wolfensohn, who both calls upon the institutions to do more and calls upon civil society to direct its critical gaze at the shortcomings of globalisation in a constructive way, setting substantial goals.
Je voudrais aborder en toute franchise la difficulté à convertir l'élan initié par de nombreuses organisations non gouvernementales en faveur d'un changement rapide et d'un regroupement des voix critiques en un mouvement positif de changement et de réforme ; je rappellerai à cet égard les récentes déclarations du président de la Banque mondiale, James Wolfensohn, qui invite les institutions à en faire plus et la société civile à orienter son regard critique vis-à-vis des défauts de la mondialisation dans un sens positif, avec des objectifs significatifs.
