TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Given the major technical and economic developments occurring in television broadcasting and the appearance of new communication services in Europe since the Convention was adopted in 1989, and bearing in mind that the European Community had adopted Directive 97/36/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 30 June 1997 amending Directive 89/552/EEC, the Council of Europe saw an urgent need to amend some of the Convention's provisions in order to develop a coherent approach to transfrontier television between the Convention and the revised Directive.
Étant donné les développements techniques et économiques importants intervenus dans le domaine de la radiodiffusion télévisée ainsi que l'apparition de nouveaux services de communication en Europe depuis l'adoption de la Convention en 1989 et ayant à l'esprit l'adoption au sein de la Communauté européenne de la Directive 97/36/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 30 juin 1997 modifiant la Directive 89/552/CEE, le Conseil de l'Europe a estimé nécessaire et urgent d'amender certaines dispositions de la Convention, afin de créer une approche cohérente de la télévision transfrontière entre cet instrument et la Directive révisée.
