(2) Article 24 of Council Decision 90/424/EEC of 26 June 1990 on expenditure in the veterinary field(2), as last amended by Regulation (EC) No 1258/1999(3), lays down the rules governing a Community financial contribution towards programmes for the eradication and monitoring of animal diseases, in particular that the disease must be listed in the Annex to the Decision, the slaughter programme (including possible compensation for producers) must be approved by the Commission, and expenditure (including any compensation for producers) may be eligible for a Community financial contribution.
(2) La décision 90/424/CEE du Conseil du 26 juin 1990 relative à certaines dépenses dans le domaine vétérinaire(2), modifiée en dernier lieu par le règlement (CE) n° 1258/1999(3), établit en son article 24 les modalités de la participation financière de la Communauté à des programmes d'éradication et de surveillance de maladies animales. Lesdites modalités prévoient notamment que la maladie doit être inscrite à l'annexe de la décision, que le plan d'abattage (qui comprend éventuellement l'indemnisation des producteurs) doit être approuvé par la Commission, et que les dépenses (y compris, le cas échéant, l'indemnisation des producteurs) peuvent faire l'objet d'une participation financière de la Communauté.
