En effet, ainsi qu'elle l'a démontré lors de la session de juin de la Commission préparatoire de la Cour pénale, l'UE a réaffirmé son attachement à l'intégrité du Statut de la CPI. Elle a par conséquent refusé de modifier le Statut afin de satisfaire la demande de certains États tiers d'exclure la demande de remise à la CPI de ressortissants d'États non parties du statut. Cette position sera évidemment maintenue lors de réunions ultérieures.
