In April 1997 a report of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, recommendation 13, called for the government to review existing resources for federal circumpolar initiatives at the national, bilateral, and multilateral levels in order to identify any that might be more effectively consolidated under the aegis of the circumpolar ambassador.
En avril 1997, la recommandation 13 du Comité permanent des affaires étrangères et du commerce international de la Chambre des communes invitait le gouvernement à réexaminer les ressources qu'il consacrait alors aux initiatives circumpolaires fédérales aux paliers national, bilatéral et multilatéral afin de voir si l'on ne pourrait pas obtenir de meilleurs résultats en en confiant certaines à notre ambassadrice circumpolaire.
