In the days following the submission of the Alternativa Sociale list, the main national information media reported that there had been serious irregularities with regard to the collection of signatures in support of the list of Alternativa Sociale candidates in the regional elections in question.

Subsequently, by order issued on 12 March 2005, the Central Regional Office at the Rome Court of Appeal excluded the 'Alternativa Sociale' list from participating in the elections for a new President of the Lazio regional government and to the regional council.
