The Council adopted a Decision granting the Commission a negotiating mandate with a view to the preparation of the 2nd Meeting of the Parties to the Convention of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention) , which will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 25 to 27 May 2005.
