The European Commission has adopted today the 20th update of the European list of air carriers which are subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the European Union, better known as "the EU air safety list". Because of important safety concerns, air carriers certified in Eritrea have been added to the list.
La Commission européenne a adopté aujourd'hui la 20e mise à jour de la liste des transporteurs aériens faisant l'objet d'une interdiction d'exploitation ou de restrictions d'exploitation dans l'Union européenne. Les transporteurs aériens certifiés en Érythrée ont été ajoutés à la liste en raison de graves problèmes de sécurité.

One air carrier certified in Kyrgyzstan and one in Gabon are also added to the list whilst nine Kazakh operators were removed from the list and operating restrictions modified for one Ghanaian operator.

INAC did not demonstrate that it discharges its obligations regarding the safety oversight of the air carriers certified in Sao Tome and Principe in conformity with international safety requirements, given that a substantial part of these carriers are not operating in Sao Tome on a regular basis and that INAC stated that it relies partly on the oversight of the competent authorities of the States in which the operations are actually conducted. However, INAC failed to produce adequate agreements with these authorities.
