IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

In view of the particular nature of the activities of the Joint Undertaking and its importance for the development of fusion research and in order to promote a sound and economic management of the public funding to be provided to the Joint Undertaking, all the advantages provided for in Annex III to the Treaty should be conferred on the Joint Undertaking.

The Member States shall confer all the advantages provided for in Annex III to the Treaty on the Joint Undertaking within the scope of its official activities, for as long as the Joint Undertaking exists.
Les États membres accordent à l'entreprise commune, dans le champ de ses activités officielles, tous les avantages prévus à l'annexe III du traité, aussi longtemps que l'entreprise commune existe.

- 2 - Its main characteristics are well known : * respect for the sovereignty of States and their economic and political options; * institutionalized group-to-group cooperation, preventing political dsicrimination between recipients; * security and predictability of aid and trade advantages, based on binding international commitment covering the duration of the Convention: this is the often-cited advantage of the contractual nature of Lomé; * comprehensive cooperation arrangements covering a wide range of areas and instruments; * permanent dialogue both at technical level (aid programming and policy dialogue) and at political level, in the joint institutions (ACP-EEC Council of Ministers, Committee of Ambassadors, Joint Assembly).
- 2 - Les caractéristiques principales de la coopération CEE-ACP sont connues : - respect de la souveraineté des Etats et de leurs choix économiques et politiques; - coopération institutionnalisée de groupe à groupe, écartant tout danger de discrimination politique entre bénéficiaires; - sécurité et prévisibilité de l'aide et des avantages commerciaux, basés sur des engagements internationaux contraignants couvrant la durée de la Convention: c'est l'avantage souvent cité de la contractualité de Lomé; - caractère global de l'accord de coopération, couvrant une large gamme de domaines et d'instruments; - dialogue permanent assuré à la fois au niveau technique (programmation de l'aide et dialogue sur les politiques) et au niveau politique, dans le cadre d'institutions conjointes (Conseil des Ministres ACP-CEE, Comité des Ambassadeurs, Assemblée Paritaire).
