The proposed Council decision aims to approve the Additional Protocol to the EU-South Africa TDCA taking account of Croatia's accession to the EU, on behalf of the Union and its Member States (On 24 September 2012, the Council authorised the Commission to open negotiations with South Africa in order to conclude the Additional Protocol. The Additional Protocol containing the abovementioned technical changes concerning the inclusion of Bulgaria and Romania were agreed with the Republic of South Africa, On 9 October 2007 Council adopted a decision on the signing and provision application of the Additional Protocol.
