IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

1. Where the national accreditation body of the Member State in which a verifier is performing a verification has been requested, pursuant to Article 49(5), to carry out surveillance activities, that national accreditation body shall report its findings to the national accreditation body that has accredited the verifier, unless otherwise agreed between both national accreditation bodies.

6. On the recommendation of a conformity verification body, the Agency shall accredit the applicant. The Agency shall provide the accredited certification body with an accreditation number.

4. If a certification body was accredited by a conformity verification body prior to the coming into force of these Regulations, the accreditation issued by the conformity verification body shall be recognized as an accreditation issued by the Agency.

(5) Unless the accreditation of a grader or the licence of a sampler has been suspended or cancelled under section 13.2, and subject to subsection 13.2(7), the Registrar shall annually renew the accreditation or the licence, either on the recommendation of a conformity verification body or, if there is no conformity verification body, on payment of the applicable annual fee set out in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Fees Notice before January 1 of the year in respect of which the accreditation or licence is to be renewed.

5. A person who wishes to be accredited as a certification body shall apply for the accreditation in writing to a conformity verification body and undergo an assessment in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011 to verify

Accreditation Bodies shall establish, revise and update a list of environmental verifiers and their scope of accreditation in their Member States and shall communicate changes in that list each month to the Commission and to the Competent Body of the Member State where the Accreditation Body is located.

3. National accreditation bodies shall be permitted to operate across national borders, within the territory of another Member State, either at the request of a conformity assessment body in the circumstances set out in Article 7(1), or, if they are asked to do so by a national accreditation body in accordance with Article 7(3), in cooperation with the national accreditation body of that Member State.

Where a national accreditation body ascertains that a conformity assessment body which has received an accreditation certificate is no longer competent to carry out a specific conformity assessment activity or has committed a serious breach of its obligations, that accreditation body shall take all appropriate measures within a reasonable timeframe to restrict, suspend or withdraw the accreditation certificate.
4.
