The main achievement of the study was the successful completion of combining trade and transport data from various sources for the Alpine pilot exercise, going through the following steps: a) Regionalisation (NUTS2 level) of the trade flows between countries per transport mode and commodity group; b) Implementation of the main transport chain organisation structures in trade flows; c) Implementation of the specific Alpine transport chain organisation in trade flows over the Alps; d) Distribution of trade flows along Alpine crossings over all transport chain organisation structures; e) Assessing impacts related to Alpine Transport Policy issues (e.g. pricing, combined transport).
L'étude a eu pour résultat principal de permettre la combinaison, pour l'exercice pilote au niveau de la région alpine, de données sur les échanges et les transports émanant de sources diverses. Les différentes phases de l'exercice étaient les suivantes: a) Régionalisation (niveau NUTS2) des flux commerciaux entre les différents pays par mode de transport et groupe de produits; b) Mise en oeuvre des principales structures organisationnelles de la chaîne de transport dans les flux commerciaux; c) Mise en oeuvre des structures organisationnelles spécifiques de la chaîne de transport de la région alpine dans les flux commerciaux transalpins; d) Répartition des flux commerciaux sur les traversées alpines pour toutes les structures organisationnelles de la chaîne de transport; e) Évaluation des impacts au regard des questions concernant la politique des transports dans la région alpine (par ex. tarification, transport combiné).
