− (FR) Madam President, I should like to join in the praise and thanks of Mrs Dati who is chairing the JHA Council during the French Presidency. I must say to Mrs Kaufmann that she is right to insist on data protection. I must also remind her that the draft framework decision on data protection actually lays down detailed rules that will also apply to information exchanged between the contact points of the European Judicial Network, but we should certainly make sure of this.
− Madame la Présidente, je veux m'associer aux éloges et aux remerciements de Mme la ministre, qui préside ce Conseil justice pendant cette présidence française, et je voudrais dire à Mme Kaufmann qu'elle a raison d'insister sur la protection des données, ainsi que lui rappeler que le projet de décision-cadre relative à la protection des données prévoit quand même des règles détaillées qui seront également applicables aux échanges d'informations entre les points de contact du réseau judiciaire européen, mais à moins il vaut mieux s'en assurer.

Obviously, it put the table and the Chair in a very difficult position, and I would like to join the hon. member in congratulating both the table and the Chair for dealing with that matter in accordance with the rules of the House, which solved a bit of a parliamentary crisis at the time.
