The Strategic Implementation Plan (the Plan) that was adopted by the Partnership's Steering Group in November 2011, focuses on actions developed around 3 pillars: prevention, screening and early diagnosis; care and cure; and active ageing and independent living.

With regards to the governance structure, the High Level Steering Group is assisted by its Sherpa group, and with the technical support of operational groups, will start developing the Partnership's Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP).

1. With a view to supporting the strategic planning as provided for in Article 6, the Commission shall present annually to the European Parliament and the Council its intentions for the financial allocations to be proposed for the three forthcoming years, in the form of a multi-annual indicative financial framework, taking into consideration the financial framework, as well as the European Partnerships, Accession Partnerships, Reports and Strategy Paper.
