Calls on the Turkish Government actively to support the ongoing negotiations, and to contribute in concrete terms to the comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus issue, based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation, in line with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the principles on which the EU is founded; calls on Turkey to facilitate a suitable climate for negotiations by immediately starting to withdraw its forces from Cyprus, by addressing the issue of the settlement of Turkish citizens on the island and also by enabling the return of the sealed-off section of Famagusta to its lawful inhabitants in compliance with Resolution 550(1984) of the United Nations Security Council;
35. appelle le gouvernement turc à soutenir activement les négociations en cours, et à contribuer concrètement à une résolution globale de la question chypriote, fondée sur une fédération bicommunautaire et bizonale, conformément aux résolutions du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies applicables en la matière et aux principes fondateurs de l'Union européenne, invite la Turquie à favoriser un climat propice aux négociations en retirant immédiatement ses troupes de Chypre, en s'employant à apporter une réponse au problème de la colonisation de l'île par des citoyens turcs et en permettant la restitution de la zone bouclée de Famagouste à ses habitants légitimes, conformément à la résolution 550(1984) du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies;

37. Given past injustices, the reasonable doubts of European citizens should not be brushed aside with replies along the lines of "this area is supported, even though it is better off than yours because it is a NUTS II territorial unit, whereas yours isn't".
Aux interrogations légitimes qui sont les siennes quant aux injustices commises, le citoyen européen ne devra pas recevoir de réponses décevantes du genre "cette région bénéficie d’une aide, bien qu’elle soit dans une meilleure situation que la tienne, parce qu’elle est une unité territoriale NUTS II, alors que la tienne ne l’est pas".
