In this context, the Association Council noted that several decisions establishing the modalities for Lithuanian participation in certain Community programmes have been taken (in the field of youth and culture) or are under examination (in the field of SMEs, exchange of officials - Karolus and the 5th Framework programme on RTD).

European voluntary service and Erasmus, two initiatives developed by the European Commission within the framework of the "Youth for Europe" and "Socrates" programmes, will enable 115 young Europeans from 15 Member States of the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the Central and Eastern European countries to participate in football's World Cup in France.
