In view of the fact that not only Ontario but other provinces may be about to jump on this new gold rush of charging fees for the extraction of water, can the Government of Canada tell me if there are ongoing discussions with the provinces with respect to this issue and whether the International Joint Committee has been seized of this matter in terms of information respecting the volumes of water being extracted in this country?
Compte tenu du fait que non seulement l'Ontario, mais d'autres provinces aussi peuvent être sur le point de se joindre à cette nouvelle ruée vers l'or consistant à imposer des frais pour le prélèvement d'eau, le gouvernement du Canada peut-il me dire s'il va y avoir des discussions avec les provinces à ce sujet et si la Commission mixte internationale a été saisie de cette question, en ce qui concerne l'information touchant les volumes d'eau qui sont prélevés dans notre pays?
