IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

To contribute to ensuring the availability of a radio spectrum for space operations that is immune from interference, to enable economies of scale and optimise operational costs for pan-European systems, the Commission, together with the EU Member States, will investigate how to best take into account the future spectrum needs for SatCom in the context of the Radio Spectrum Policy Programme and contribute to the preparation of the next ITU World Radio Communications Conference in order to defend EU interests in the field of global and regional spectrum allocation.
Afin de contribuer à garantir la disponibilité d’un spectre radioélectrique pour les opérations spatiales qui soit à l’abri de toute ingérence, de permettre des économies d’échelle et d’optimiser les coûts de fonctionnement des systèmes paneuropéens, la Commission, en collaboration avec les États membres de l’UE, se penchera sur la meilleure façon de tenir compte des futurs besoins en matière de radiofréquences pour les communications par satellite, dans le cadre du programme en matière de politique du spectre radioélectrique, et contribuera à la préparation de la prochaine conférence mondiale sur les radiocommunications de l’UIT, en vue de défendre les intérêts de l’UE en matière d’attribution du spectre au niveau mondial et régional.

In 2006, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) estimated that the future spectrum bandwidth requirements for the development of International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) and IMT-advanced systems (i.e. 3G and 4G mobile communications) would be between 1 280 and 1 720 MHz in 2020 for the commercial mobile industry for each ITU region including Europe.
En 2006, l’Union internationale des télécommunications (UIT) a estimé que les futurs besoins en largeur de bandes de fréquences pour le développement des systèmes de télécommunications mobiles internationales-2000 (IMT-2000) et les systèmes IMT évolués (c’est-à-dire les communications mobiles 3G et 4G) seraient compris entre 1 280 et 1 720 MHz en 2020 pour le secteur des communications mobiles commerciales pour chacune des régions UIT couvrant l’Europe.

The spectrum management provisions of this Directive should be consistent with the work of international and regional organisations dealing with radio spectrum management, such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), so as to ensure the efficient management of and harmonisation of the use of spectrum across the Community and between the Member States and other members of the ITU.
Il convient que les dispositions de la présente directive relatives à la gestion du spectre soient conformes aux travaux sur la gestion du spectre radioélectrique réalisés par les organisations internationales et régionales, notamment l’Union internationale des télécommunications (UIT) et la Conférence européenne des administrations des postes et des télécommunications (CEPT), de manière à assurer une gestion efficace et une harmonisation de l’utilisation du spectre dans la Communauté ainsi qu’entre les États membres et d’autres membres de l’UIT.

5. For the use of the automatic identification systems (AIS), the regional arrangement concerning the radiotelephone service on inland waterways concluded in Basel on 6 April 2000 in the framework of the radio regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) shall apply.

Aux fins de l'utilisation du système automatique d'identification (SAI), l'arrangement régional relatif au service radiotéléphonique sur les voies de navigation intérieure conclu à Bâle le 6 avril 2000 dans le cadre du règlement des radiocommunications de l'Union internationale des télécommunications (UIT) est applicable.
