The Commission will also clarify the provisions governing the labelling of novel food, and, in particular, products derived from genetically modified organisms, and will take an initiative with regard to the labelling of additives produced through genetic engineering and to the labelling of food and food ingredients produced without genetic engineering (so-called "GMO-free food").
