Underlines, however, that the nature of the Communities' contribution to the schools' budgets is set out clearly in Article 25.2 of the Convention defining the Statute of the European Schools; rejects, therefore, the imposition by the Commission of a ceiling on the Communities' contribution to the European Schools budget before the Board of Governors has presented its estimate of the revenue and expenditure of the Schools for the following financial year;

Recalls that the Convention defining the Statute of the European Schools stipulates that the role of the European Schools is to provide for the joint education of the children of the staff of the European Communities as a way of ensuring the proper operation of the Community institutions, and also stipulates that other children may attend the Schools within the limits set by the Board of Governors;

FURTHERING AN OPEN EUROPEAN SPACE FOR CO-OPERATION WITHIN HIGHER EDUCATION The Council and the Ministers for Education, meeting within the Council, adopted the conclusions in Annex I. VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE 1990s The Council adopted the Resolution in Annex II. EUROPEAN SCHOOLS When the new Convention defining the Statute of the European Schools was finalized in November 1992, the Council and the Ministers for Education set up a Subcommittee to look into ways of simplifying and improving the pedagogical, financial and administrative management of the Schools in the long term.
PROMOTION D'UN ESPACE EUROPEEN OUVERT POUR LA COOPÉRATION DANS L'ENSEIGNEMENT SUPÉRIEUR Le Conseil et les Ministres de l'Education réunis au sein du Conseil ont adopté les conclusions qui figurent à l'Annexe I. ENSEIGNEMENT ET FORMATION PROFESSIONNELLE DANS LES ANNEES 1990 Le Conseil a adopté la résolution qui se trouve à l'Annexe II. ECOLES EUROPEENNES A l'occasion de la mise au point d'une nouvelle convention portant statut des Ecoles européennes en novembre dernier, le Conseil et les Ministres de l'Education avaient chargé un Sous-Comité de l'examen des moyens de simplifier et d'améliorer à long terme la gestion pédagogique, financière et administrative des Ecoles.
