The purpose of the Decision was to provide the Commission with a flexible tool which would enable statistics applications to be adapted to changing information requirements, to which end certain expenditure by the Member States would be subsidised so as to enable the latter to take appropriate action in order to adapt their national agricultural statistics systems in certain areas.
