TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Op grond van het advies van de EFSA en de aanbevelingen in de Gezondheidscode voor landdieren van de OIE moet de lijst van SRM met betrekking tot runderen zodanig worden gewijzigd dat deze de laatste vier meter van de dunne darm, de blindedarm en het mesenterium (dat niet gescheiden kan worden van de mesenteriale zenuwen, de plexus coeliacus, de plexus mesentericus en het mesenteriale vet) bevat, maar niet de overige delen van de ingewanden van runderen, te weten de twaalfvingerige darm, de karteldarm en de dunne darm met uitzondering van de laatste vier meter.
On the basis of the EFSA Opinion and of the recommendations of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, the list of SRM concerning bovine animals should be amended so as to include the last four meters of the small intestine, the caecum and the mesentery (which cannot be dissociated from the mesenteric nerves, the celiac and mesenteric ganglion complex and the mesenteric fat), but to exclude the remaining parts of the bovine intestines, namely the duodenum, the colon and the small intestine except for the last four meters.

Volgens het advies van de EFSA geldt voor met BSE besmette runderen het volgende: i) bij dieren tot 36 maanden oud is meer dan 90 % van de BSE-infectiviteit verbonden met de laatste 4 m van de dunne darm en de blindedarm; ii) dieren tussen 36 en 60 maanden oud vertonen aanzienlijke individuele variatie in de relatieve bijdrage van intestinale en mesenteriale structuren aan de totale infectiviteit; iii) bij dieren vanaf 60 maanden oud is 90 % van de BSE-infectiviteit verbonden met de mesenteriale zenuwen, de plexus coeliacus en de plexus mesentericus; iv) de twaalfvingerige darm, de karteldarm en de mesenteriale lymfklieren dragen minder dan 0,1 % bij aan de totale infectiviteit van een besmet dier, ongeacht de leeftijd op het moment van slachten.
According to the EFSA Opinion, in BSE infected bovine animals: (i) up to 36 months of age, more than 90 % of the BSE infectivity is associated with the last 4 metres of small intestine and the caecum; (ii) between 36 and 60 months of age, there is a substantial inter-individual variability in the relative contribution of intestinal and mesenteric structures to the total infectivity; (iii) from 60 months of age, more than 90 % of the BSE infectivity is associated with the mesenteric nerves and the celiac and mesenteric ganglion complex; (iv) the duodenum, the colon and the mesenteric lymph nodes contribute less than 0,1 % to the total infectivity in an infected animal regardless of the age at slaughter.
