– (EN) Mijnheer de Voorzitter, net als de heer Corbett wil ik niet vooruitlopen op de resultaten van een tweede referendum in Ierland en zeker niet op de resultaten van de komende Europese verkiezingen in de regio Yorkshire and the Humber.
- Herr Präsident, wie Herr Corbett möchte ich die Ergebnisse eines zweiten Referendums in Irland nicht vorwegnehmen und ganz gewiss möchte ich die Abstimmung in der Region Yorkshire and the Humber bei den kommenden Europawahlen nicht vorwegnehmen.

Ik stam af van een familie van schapenhouders en nu vertegenwoordig ik in het parlement Yorkshire and the Humber. Ik heb mij in de afgelopen maanden gericht op de problemen van onze boeren in heuvelgebieden.
Meine Vorfahren waren Schafbauern, und ich vertrete jetzt Yorkshire und Humber im Parlament. Für mich lag der Schwerpunkt in den letzten Monaten auf den Problemen der Bergbauern.

Vanavond staan de regio's Elzas, Øresund, Wales, West Midlands en Yorkshire and the Humber in de Europese schijnwerpers: zij zijn de winnaars van de eerste RegioStars Awards voor vernieuwende regionale projecten.
Heute Abend stehen die Regionen Elsass, Øresund, Wales, West Midlands sowie Yorkshire and the Humber als Preisträger der ersten RegioStars-Auszeichnung für innovative Regionalprojekte in europäischem Rampenlicht.

Daarbij wil ik in het bijzonder wijzen op de overstromingen die grote delen van Engeland hebben getroffen, waaronder mijn eigen kiesdistrict Yorkshire and the Humber.
Ich möchte vor allem auf das Hochwasser aufmerksam machen, vom dem viele Teile Englands betroffen waren, so auch mein Wahlkreis Yorkshire and the Humber.

Hoewel de toetreding van de nieuwe lidstaten tot een herverdeling van deze fondsen heeft geleid, ben ik verheugd dat in het nieuwe pakket voor de komende zeven jaar ook weer een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid financiële middelen voor Yorkshire and the Humber is voorzien, zij het op een lager niveau dan voorheen.
Obwohl der Beitritt der neuen Mitgliedstaaten eine Neuausrichtung dieser Fonds erforderlich machte, freue ich mich, dass das für die nächsten sieben Jahre vereinbarte Paket die Fortsetzung dieser Finanzierung für Yorkshire and Humber auf etwas reduziertem, aber noch immer recht hohem Niveau vorsieht.

Mijn eigen kiesdistrict, Yorkshire and the Humber, heeft enorm veel profijt gehad van de Europese structuurfondsen.

During the high level meeting in Bamako, "the Parties agreed to support the creation by le Mali of the Migration Information and Management Centre". The general objective is the definition and implementation by Mali of a migratory policy adapted to the regional and European policies and dynamics. The specific objective is the setting up of the Migration Information and Management Centre which will implement and coordinate the various elements of Mali's migration policy. The expected results are (i) definition and implementation of an information and communication strategy on the legal conditions for migration and the prevention of irregular migration, (ii) putting in place a mechanism for welcoming, orientating and accompanying potential migrants (iii) putting in place a service for welcoming, orientating and accompanying returnees (iv) productively using the human, financial and technical capital lof the diaspora (v) knowledge and analysis of the migratory flows of relevance to Mali (vi) coordination of the various hierarchical structures so that they can properly steer the above-mentioned components.
